What is a sound bath?

Sound bathing is the practice of being deeply immersed in sounds and vibrations that can be used as a holistic approach to relaxation and healing. This stems from the immense power of sound and vibration...sound has a great influence on our emotions and health and can make us feel and relaxed and able to let go of some of the tensions of life.​

There are many instruments that can be used in a sound bathing session. My collection includes Tibetan and crystal singing bowls, tuning forks, chimes, ocean drum, and tongue drum, as well as some digital sound played softly in the background. 

When you come to your session, we'll spend a few moments of grounding with some deep, guided breathing. You'll position yourself to be comfortable, whether that is sitting in an easy cross-leg position (sukasana), lying on your back (savasana), or seated comfortably in a chair. Then we begin the gorgeous practice of immersing you in sound using a combination of the above instruments. Every person experiences sound bathing differently - you might find yourself shifting into deep relaxation, a quieting of your brain's consciousness, or you may even find yourself dozing off, which is fine! At the end of the session, we'll do a little focused breathing and, if it is right for you, some light stretching. 

You can then go about your day with intention and peace. Expect to have a good night of sleep and make sure to stay hydrated. Beautiful!​
